Edible Portland and Ecotrust are throwing summer's first barbecue — with a keynote by Nell Newman of Newman's Own Organics — to honor outstanding members of our local food community. All proceeds support Ecotrust’s work to build a resilient regional food system.

Tickets to Nell's talk are now SOLD OUT, but there are still Eats Only tickets for the feasting that begins at 8 pm.

At each station, alongside the barbecue and beer, the producers will share stories of their work, offering attendees the opportunity to get closer to the source of their meat.

To kick off the night, social entrepreneur Nell Newman of Newman’s Own Organics will talk on the power of social enterprise — what it means to run a business that aims for far more than profit — and then announce the winners of this year’s Local Hero Awards, voted for by the public.
